Had anyone actually bothered to listen to the locals, they would have quickly realised that the building of the entire development and the addition of the foolish floating causeway combined with the removal of the old concrete jetty, would change the flow of the water in and out of the creek resulting in silting where silting had never occurred before!
Still it is all history now, Hampstead Homes have no doubt made their profit, the planners that gave their approval will no doubt be delighted with their foresight in allowing the developer to go ahead, and the only ones to suffer are the poor sods who live in the town and use the river!
