We shall be there with our Grandson in tow. Full Circle will be in the marina, but we will be out in Miniboat the little Walker Bay 8 on the Colne YC pontoon.

MLSC and at least two other clubs meeting there this weekend. Going to be busy! Will fly by he Flag of awesomeness if anyone fancies a cuppa :-)

Sunday AM is the Buxey Ashes, been meaning to see it for years. Fingers crossed.

What a joy it was. Particularly being allowed to pay £10.00 per head at the Colne Yacht Club Barbecue evening event for either one sausage or one burger in a bun. Imagine my joy when the serving youth then said that I was only allowed one dessert spoon full of rice salad............
Best pull their socks up before the ever dwindling membership disappears entirely.

True. I am a member and asked if there was discount for kids. No, they eat more than adults. Letter going into the Commodore tomorrow.

Please don't write to the commodore, when the issue was raised last night he proudly announced that he,and I quote, Does not care as "he is only interested in profit". I for one will not be renewing our membership so there goes over 300 quid.
When the president phoned me today he asked that any letters be addressed to The General Committee and Flag Officers as the Commodore will just ignore anything addressed to him. In the last month he has had committee resignations solely explicable by his 'unusual ' attitude.

We were heading towards Brightlinsea on sat then saw this thread and changed our mind! Thought the place might be heaving!

It certainly was. The HM and staff seemed almost overwhelmed with requests for berths. We had to 'hold station' for 25 minutes before being found a berth, rafted, despite pre booking as part of the MLSC cruise. Not a moan, just saying. Made us feel a bit Solenty :-)

Fireworks were good though.

Paid for my overnight stop today over the phone. We left early and no one was asking for money when we arrived, they were very busy on saturday. 28' boat = £15. Bradwell charged me @£18, includes electric, water, showers, walk ashore, bar etc. Brightlingsea has no facilities + we had to raft up. Is it me or is that expensive?

West Mersea also 15 quid.
All that says is that Bradwell is cheap, which it is.

I really like Brightlingsea but when they are busy the queuing for a berth can be far more frustrating that anything I have so far experienced in Lake Solent
