I acquired inexpensive tickets from a colleague, so SWMBO and I went to the show. I don't think I've ever been so bored. It was indistinguishable from the 2012 show.

I looked at the Nauticat 52, having always admired the plans & photos, but having looked over their 38' two years back, the 52' didn't feel any bigger or better. :(

I'm almost persuaded that I don't like monohulls - so damned cramped for their LOA. The whole contemporary scene leaves me cold, so, why not go the whole distance towards characterless practicality and start dreaming about pig-ugly white catamarans instead? All the new plastic monohulls are boats I'll never want to own.

Just one vessel at the whole show made me smile...and stepping aboard and walking around her, I reckon I could live very contentedly with her limitless maintenance and impracticality and the investment of effort required for pretty basic performance...she was worth the cost of entry on her own. Pity we couldn't look below.
