Would anybody who has attended the traditional craft festival in Brest tell me about fitting in as a visiting yacht -- is it chaotic or well organised, are berths available, etc?

You can register your boat here: http://www.brest2004.fr/gb/inscriptions.htm

I'm not sure how picky they are. I registered a few weeks ago but have yet to hear from them.

I was there in 1992 and the harbour was very crowded - I reckon you should book early to have a chance of a parking place.

Thanks, I've registered too and heard nothing yet but it's early days. They're probably waiting to see what they get. It's the crowding I'm worried about. One idea suggested by another poster was to anchor across the bay and take a ferry over to brest then join in the final parade of sail. Sounds fun, anyway.
