break back trailers

break back trailers pivot around axle about halfay along it will rise up
halfway approx along a bolt on mine keeps it in the down position via a spring coil. I have a lanyard affair attached to bolt that pulls back the bolt and lets me lift up the back and use gravity to slide the boat down into the water
mine will float pretty shallow
it means i donot have to float it off the trailer putting myself and the trailer in deep water which is miles from the edge on my beach
rollers on trailers go stiff over time so pushing it off can be a struggle unless its quite deep.
on a gently shelving beach where i launch it means i donot have to go too deep about knee height
this means i can push the trailer into the water until the water resisitance is too much at that depth for me (around the top of the wheels) i can get the boat off and in just by myself

i then loop a rope around the trailer and attch to tow bar of car further up beach( but the rope does not need to be too long as the trailier aint to far in
it means car never needs to go near water. and you dont have go v deep on a rising tide

they do fill with some water but not much.

i think it minimises time in the water for you and trailer if you launch ''by hand'' as i pretty much do.
