Many years ago (1970) I bought my first dinghy, a Brandy Hole One Design, number 25. It was an 11' open dinghy, single chine with a dagger board, bamboo mast and piano wire stays with a Gunter sail plan almost identical to a Heron. I wrote to the BHYC at the time and got some information about when she was built. She was a very good sailing and rowing dinghy and we cruised on the Crouch, camping overnight and also raced at Leigh on Sea. We also came across two more BHODs at 4th/6th Leigh Sea Scouts.

Does anyone know if any plans or drawings exist, although I suspect all the boats might have gone by now?

I raced against those as a nipper with Ilford Sailing Club in Clementsgreen Creek. Both club & creek now long gone.
The last time I saw one was at Eyotts Sailing Club, but that was about 15 years ago.
Brandy Hole Yacht Club is still going I believe, although the clubhouse is mainly used as a restaurant.
Upriver Yacht Club and South Woodham Yacht Club are both very active, probably some of their older members could help.

You could try John at Brandy hole yacht station. Nothing to do with the restaurant. He built them I believe. There are 2 shells in the yard, looking quite battered.
