Surely with the engine running, the alternator will be trying to keep the house battery at 14+V, so the current will be more?Ran a quick test today and with the thruster battery fully charged and the engine off the bow thruster is drawing 29amps from the house bank via the 16mm2 VSR charging cables so no where near the 80amp thermal cutout I fitted. I imagine it will be much less than this with the engine running
Electrics aren't my strong point so Im happy to stand corrected but Id assumed that if the house bank and bow thruster battery were both being charged at 14+ volts with the engine on then the bow thruster would be less likely to draw from the house bankSurely with the engine running, the alternator will be trying to keep the house battery at 14+V, so the current will be more?
