Bow protector

Metal supermarket?

Perhaps they can bend it for you as well. A friend recommended them to me for some stuff I need to beef up a couple of the chain plates and I have not yet had time to visit. However, on the phone they were very helpful and I have confidence that they can supply and cut & bend to shape what I need.

any idea how thick the ss is please?
2mm. It bends nicely at that thickness.
I used to have a picture somewhere, I'll see if I can find it. Pretty useless at that sort of thing so don't hold your breath!

The worst ding was when I accidentally trod on the up button. If it hadn't been for the Genoa Furler I think the manhood might have taken one.

bow fender

We bought at the boat show few years ago some high density foam bow fender( I have to admit it save bow so many times)

We are having a SS plate fitted to the bow just below the stem head fitting, buts it's nothing to do with bad driving or not using reverse when entering a berth. It's all to do with the anchor taking chunks out if the gel coat when it's coming up to just being on the bow roller. In rough weather it's very easy to do when you are weighing anchor and the bow us leaping about. The plate will be a wrap round plate and probably only extend down the bow half a metre or less. (The boat Tarr haven't sent me any pictures of the template yet.)

I've seen such plates on lots of boats and don't think that they look unattractive?

Seems:

A. Too big (as in too wide). difficult to tell from the picture, but mine is a long, narrow plate. All you need to do it to protect the leading edge of the bow, not the sides.
B. Too flimsy. I can't imagine 0.5mm is going to prevent damage to the bow.
C. Out of stock - that "Free Sikaflex with all bowplates while stocks last" offer isn't going to cost them much!!!

Hey ho! Just a thought.

A I agree
C I agree
B well it is only to stop me chipping the gell coat.
If i bash the pontoon so hard it dents the SS plate ( which will be hard against the bow) then i need to re think my berthing skills
