Having installed bow thruster previously I am in the process of installing a stern thruster. Both use BEP 720 MD remote battery isolators. I would like to switch the isolators on using one switch on the console. thus eliminating the need for two separate switches. I wrote to BEP folk in UK who said this can't be done yet I have seen this arrangement on a boat in Spain.
maybe the feedback for the led is a problem but I would not connect this on the stern thruster. leaving just two switch wires from the stern battery isolator
Any ideas ?

you could use a double pole relay, or two separate relays if it makes wiring easier. Then each bep module has it's own switch. Use the key switch to turn the relay(s) on/off etc.

I did look up the manual and it does say that the -ve feed must be isolated from any other -ve battery feed so careful use of relays may work to keep each BEP 720 MD separate electrically

Thanks folks. I thought about a relay but BEP chap reckons it would be unreliable, he didn’t explain why though. In the end I connected the green and black of the stern isolator in parallel with the bow on the switch used the red from the bow for the led, didn’t connect the red from the stern To avoid feedback Hey presto it works, it will be tested every day for the next three weeks before launch. All the batteries’ negatives are linked. If I have a failure I will post the details here. I still think the relay is the best long term solution And will look for one.
