Bought another boat...

Congratulations
I Like it ,
Noticed @sea those early Porto,s yours and the 31 go through the chop v well ,they are not slammers .Seen them scythe through while others slow down .Nice hull form .
In the SoF especially around St Trop (Port Grimaud) there are quite a few .

You will have a lot of fun and I predict zero depreciation or after as you say a bit of cosmetic work actual dare I say it appreciation .So £££ wise very sensible boat

There's a huge market for that kind of boat , getting stronger "retro classic "
Try and detail the exterior as near factory finish as poss re colours and strips etc .Speak to the factory -they are helpfull -if you need new correct decals " Sunseeker " or any parts .
It will attract a lot admiring glances , every where you go .
Trailer a good idea --maybe see you one day in the SoF :encouragement: ??

Thanks Portofino. Ironically I am perhaps one of the few where 'hull form' is quite a big factor in boat choice. Not that I'm that technically knowledgeable - far from it, but seakeeping ability was an important consideration. Our boat use is more exploration than anything, we also try to use all year around and we always want to go a little further. The combination of budget and local coastline steers me towards the most capable hull form for size.

Similarly with both Fletchers - we've been far further than many with much bigger boats. I have 'tuned' our ArrowSport with that aim - added Smart Tabs and moved fuel tank from the stern to improve balance. Speed was always good, but her inability to plane under 22kts (stern heavy) was initially a major issue as in a bit of chop, you need as much choice of speed as possible - she'll plane from 12-14kts now.

The reputation of the early Sunseekers is well known and combined with the classic styling and a personal affinity with this era of boats made an easy choice! I'm hoping she'll be part of the family for a long time.

Not sure if we'll make it as far as SoF, but if we have her as long as current owner (32 years), you never know!

Always liked the look of those early sunseekers, look forward to seeing her, maybe in a marina somewhere near Eos

Hi John, on the waiting list for inner harbour at Torquay (closer to home), but the Dart is always a possibility! ;) Hopefully meet up again soon - perhaps I need to have another go at pub meets...

Getting closer now. Berth sorted in Torquay inner harbour at the weekend - we even had a choice! :encouragement:

Engine and drive inspection on Saturday and then get her transported back to Devon. Hopefully in the water by end of May after a service, polish, a thorough check through.and a renaming...

Mechanical inspection all good today with no big surprises, so looks like we have a Classic Sunseeker!

Transport company reckon they will be able to move later this coming week, so home for a good engine & drive service, a clean & polish, a little tinkering and then get her in the water. Getting exciting now!

Pictures to follow when she's home...

Ok, I have some pictures!

We went up Monday to extract the boat from the vendor's driveway and get onto the road for Poole Boat Transport to pick her up, complete with trailer onto a flatbed for the journey home. Some pictures from Poole below and then unloading at home where she will sit for about 3 weeks so I can clean & polish, service the engine & drive and sort renaming, plotter and some other minor repairs before she goes onto her new berth in Torquay. The topcoat of the coloured sections will wait for next year - I need to practice first!

Congrats on getting the boat, give your neighbors something to talk about. The boats a bit of a Tardis, post some pics of the work and finished product

Nice boat.

Even came with a free pair of shoes!
Haha, yes - that's my son who was in his element 'exploring'! :)

Will the p38 pull it.....that's the question :):)

Looks super nice. Green antifoul though.....some people!
Should do once trailer is sorted - we reckon just under 3t with trailer. The Disco seemed to manage with ease and we're not too far from slipway.

Yes, does look good and I look forward to seeing it in the flesh. Green antifoul maybe copper coat?
Yes, good spot - Coppercoat ;)
