So, no change there then. The decision to buy a boat took such a long time and many steps. You had a similar process to complete the purchase.

The now previous owner is a professional mariner who loves Vito Dumas so we get off onthe same foot he will be imparting his knowledge of the outboard and other secretas when my cataract is sorted.
 
My strap line on here used to be

They are indeed the bee's knees, but a bit tricky to find space to mount in a 24 footer.

For small boat use I favour the type that has a conventional small pencil sharpener in a plastic drum that catches the peelings for later disposal,

In the days when I did a lot more drawing lines on charts I favoured propelling pencils, so I always had a fine, but not too sharp, point to draw with, but you had to hunt to find supplies of suitably soft (2b?) refills.
 
I have not read the full thread but this may have been discussed - along with the type of anchor you should be using and the rode & length. The length of one's rode is relevant when you want to sling your hook.
But the important question
Have you told the wife yet, or are you going to keep it like an errant mistress - It would be much more fun if you did
I mean - the side decks are a bit narrow for starters & you know what the more mature lady is like when a chap turns up with narrow side decks on his gunwhales Could lead to a right old domestic when she smells deck scrubbing liquid on you.
