I have previous with boats….I am going to give it ago ,much depends on my wife at the momment she is looking forward to it and enjoyed our outing last week we will do it until we cannot or go off the business. Its a new thing that hopefully will stir up the old brain cells and give us a new perspective. The boat will be moored near her finca so we can do some gardening if we don’t fancy casting offWansey, do you ever think that this boat owning malarkey is just too much work...too much commitment...too much money...and you would be better off just selling up and staying on land?
Any excuse fora piss upI suggest that on the day that Wansey signs the dotted line…the mods at YBW declare it ´Wansworth Day’….and every year we celebrate![]()
Due to an appointment with an ocular doctor to fix cataract I probably will not be yachting for month which will be to move the boat across the ria to it’s marina berth2 days to go Wansy. The clock is ticking.
I’m in the same situation....waiting for the cataract to ‘mature’....this would have been a great time to have the op because I haven’t boated for months because of the dog’s illness. Been with o eye fixed almost a whole year, when the let eye is corrected and I can see long distance and I suppose with glasses up close I will befit to safely castoffI’m in the same situation....waiting for the cataract to ‘mature’....this would have been a great time to have the op because I haven’t boated for months because of the dog’s illness. If you looked with just one eye....you would already be the most careful yachtsman on the waterBeen with o eye fixed almost a whole year, when the let eye is corrected and I can see long distance and I suppose with glasses up close I will befit to safely castoff
Being careful if you cannot see correctly doesn’t help berthing in amarinaIf you looked with just one eye....you would already be the most careful yachtsman on the water
Having two good eyes hasn't helped me berth yet, you may as well have a go with oneBeing careful if you cannot see correctly doesn’t help berthing in amarina
Nelson did reasonably well with one eye. Play your cards right and you might become Sir Wansworth of FincaBeing careful if you cannot see correctly doesn’t help berthing in amarina
Not ha in any of that kissing malarkeynNelson did reasonably well with one eye. Play your cards right and you might become Sir Wansworth of Finca![]()

Parking a boat is just like parking a carI passed my test to renew driving license, just a bit fuzzy
I have yet to lean on another car whilst parking or to get blown by the wind. Even my old car also has brakes,Parking a boat is just like parking a car
I’m trying to build Wansey’s confidenceI have yet to lean on another car whilst parking or to get blown by the wind. Even my old car also has brakes,
Thanks,Tuesday in theory I am going to the yacht club hopefully to select a berth. Its a very sheltered marina and as long as the ferry is not coming in or out it’s quiet and there is room to drop the sails behind the mole,it’s getting the hang and having confidence in the outboard ,Imight fit a sculling oar which I believe many French yachts had by law.The marina boatman is also on call …..and it’s a very light boat. And unlike British marinas and yacht clubs they couldn’t care a shite how you mess up your approachI’m trying to build Wansey’s confidence
Here’s some advice......when you go to sign the dotted line....and you accidentally sign the table top....you are still good enough to be a yachtieThanks,Tuesday in theory I am going to the yacht club hopefully to select a berth. And unlike British marinas and yacht clubs they couldn’t care a shite how you mess up your approach![]()
So are you going to turf the foredeck and have flower beds on the side decks to keep SWMBO happy? The boat will be moored near her finca so we can do some gardening if we don’t fancy casting off
