P&O are doing the £25 plus six bottles of wine, day return offer.(till 22 October...although in the past they have extended the dates)
While not premier cru, the wine is eminently drinkable.

I'd been looking at this deal and it appears to be only available on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays. Certainly I tried booking on different days of the week and it didn't work.

Talking of P&O..

When I last sailed with them I arrived early for my booking. I asked if I could go on the next service and they said yes. It would be £60 surcharge which is the price difference between my ticket and the next sailing.

They appeared to work on the principle that short notice tickets are more expensive than ones booked a month in advance so they applied the short notice price ignoring the fact I booked a crossing a month before.

I have not sailoed with them since... does anyone know what they do these days?

Living 125 miles from Dover Ferry Port and with the M25 to negotiate we have arrived an hour early for our ferry sailing and been offered the next available ferry at no extra charge by P&O. We find their service quite good as they have numberplate recognition and it all works extremely well. The free wine is OK to drink as table wine, but better wine is available at Cite d'Europe for less than 2 euros a bottle. I took the boat over to Gravelines last week and was able to get a very drinkable Cabernet Sauvignon Vin de Pays d'Oc 12.5% for 1.39 Euros from the Lidl 100 metres from the boat harbour.

I rate P&O as far better than DFDS Seaways, but I also liked SeaFrance and My Ferry Service.

Currently buying a very quaffable Spanish Red from Lidl in San Fernando for 89 cents a bottle. Conde Noble Vino Tinto 2014

Peter, you can go off people you know!

Flat calm at Harwich H'penny this weekend and I'm ashore on a visit. Couple of pints of Broadside and a steak baguette in the Alma set me up for Lobster Thermidor and rugby at the Pier Hotel in the evening on Saturday. Now there's exotic.

Have fun.

I noted that Second Simo had taken the best spot again

Did the day trip last Monday, £25 + 6 free bottles, however turned up 2 hours early going over and the wanted £20 to go on an earlier ferry. Said I would sit it out, coming back early was not a problem.
