Boot Dudeldorf

Seriously thinking of going this year. Are there trams/Trains from the Airport to the Exhibition centre

As well as the airport shuttle bus that jrudge mentions, iirc the show entry ticket also gives you free travel on the tram to get there.

Are you going to join in with the forum outing on 21 January 2020?

I think your definition of half decent might be relivent here. I just found decent hotels for £100 per night for one room 2 people

Thats good to hear. To be honest I havent looked properly yet

Do bear in mind thAt Uber has been banned and taxi meters go round like rev counters so distance whilst not critical can cost

I stayed at an “ airport “ hotel and getting to the airport was e13 and town I think over e25

some of the comments are suggesting that it is difficult to view boats unless you have made appointments?

Maybe it's different on the sail side or maybe I've just not perfected that money's-no-object look (my footwear errs towards the practical rather than the hand-made) but my experience at Boot was that I could get on any boat...tomorrow. The fancier boats never seemed to have "availability" for today, even when I asked in the morning. Fortunately I went for the weekend so could say "fine: what time tomorrow?". If you've never had problems at London or Southampton, maybe you have A Look that means you won't have problem at Boot but if going just for one day, you might be wise to take a spin round the stands "booking" as soon as you get there.

True j but the forum group is pre cleared/guest list for princess fairline sunseeker ferrettigroup, so that’s a decent start.

How will they recognise you? Have you got special "Forum Group" badges / hats?!

The barriers are usually open as we approach 50 feet away!

AKA we know people on the stand and one of our number has usually spend an unfeasible large sum of cash with them which of course helps. Call it retrospective discounts.

The snag is we don't tend to stray much further!

Good point, but is there anything else than fat middle aged blokes still interested in boats, these days...? :D

Well I just got an email from Burton Waters with a Request Tickets Form to fill in which I did. Not really sure how that all works... Is it basically a request for free tickets from them

Well that was ok I filled in the request form and got a response saying my tickets will be with me in January

Going again with a mate on the first weekend (ie. tomorrow), and only after booking the flights realised that the show opens to public only on Saturday. Does anybody know if there is trade day on Friday, etc.? I doubt my modest YouTube subscription numbers will get me in, but will have to talk to our local sales guys to see if their patience streches to yet another visit . Otherwise it'll be a long day at the Killepitsch hatch :).
