Boot Dudeldorf

I would much appreciate if one of you experienced boot-goers can help answer some questions about the show:

- Is it very crowded, i.e. should we be reaching out to our local dealers to learn if they can assist in booking us in for viewings?
- I assume that the nearby hotels are quite busy during show week so probably a good idea to book in good time or is this not an issue?
- I found a list of exhibitors at the website but couldn't see a preliminary list of the boats on display. Do you know if this will be published later?

Many thanks!

Go on a weekday and it wont be too crowded. The exhibition area is massive so whilst it may look like a lot of people are entering the exhibition at the entrance they disperse over a large area. Having said this, if you want to see specific boats its always best to make an appt with a dealer to save waiting

I've never had a problem booking a hotel room. I checked yesterday for our trip and there was plenty of availability although its not cheap. Expect to pay £150+ per night for a half decent room. FWIW I've found in the past that booking an air ticket + hotel booking with BA cheaper than booking them separately although this year it doesnt seem like there are any bargains

The exhibitor list is already on the website https://www.boot.com/en/Exhibitors_Products/Exhibitiors_Products_2020

Am going the 1st weekend (sat & sun) - so no doubt it will be busy. Not booked any appointments but am sure can get on to see pearl 62, manhatten 68, etc. On the plus side 4 return tickets (easyjet from gatwick) cost me £225 in total!

Mike, will you stay overnight ?

Hi, we haven't been to Boot before, but some of the comments are suggesting that it is difficult to view boats unless you have made appointments? How do you go about making appointments when we do not really know what we might want to view? We are not in the market for a new boat at the moment , but find it useful to view different boats so when we are thinking of changing we have a idea about what we are interested in, this is how we have first looked at all our previous boats. we don,t really want to travel if we are going to be turned away from most stands, we never seem to have this problem at Southampton or London shows.

you won't be turned away but they will take you details, go and find the dealer for your country and then plod back - so it stops casual looking and irritates the $%^& out of everyone as they have handed out their details 15 times.

If you do contact the dealer you will just ask and get on the stand.

I didn't have a problem viewing any boat at Boot this year. As Jeremy says, you will be asked to register at each reception desk. Takes 2 minutes, then one of the helpful assistants will find you a guide. If you are clear that you are browsing, then everyone understands and is happy.

Always wanted to join a forum meet so have blocked the date in my agenda. Driving distance for me. BartW I guess you will drive there too as a fellow Belgian?

I think your definition of half decent might be relivent here. I just found decent hotels for £100 per night for one room 2 people
