Boot Düsseldorf 2019

As far as I'm aware the hulls are created in China / Taiwan and the boat is finished off in glorious Gosport at Endeavour Quay. I'm not sure to what stage the boat gets taken before it arrives in the UK.
It makes sense to mould the hulls in the Far East where the knowhow exists already and there is still a cost advantage but I didnt realise they had a yard in Gosport now. When Pearl first started they were based somewhere in the W Midlands but I guess when youre building 80 footers that isnt an option

Positively +1, many thanks to henryf.
In many ways, it's even better than going to airports, begging for seeing boats, eating bratwurst, etc... :p

Fully agree - what a great thread and thanks to HenryF for the effort and write ups - it rather nice to hear another owners point of view too rather than simply viewing and talking to brokers. Excellent stuff.

Roll on SIBS.........

Like Henry, I was very impressed with the Pearl. It had some real WOW about it. We did not get enough time to look beneath the impressively glossy surface to check the build quality. And we all know there have been a couple of very public hull issues, however the business has got over these, and looks in rude health. I am pleased to see that shafts are an option, as is IPS. I am no lover of sharp corners and edges on a bat, but Mr Salesman seemed aware, and rounding corners and edges is apparently quite within scope.
Good luck to Pearl. They offer a distinctive alternative to the usual suspects.

but would be interested to learn more
I thought to check out the broker website, and I found the very same boat advertised on this webpage.
It's still far from giving accurate technical specs, but it is a bit more detailed than the yachtworld ad, btw including some virtual tour images of several parts of the boat, which are rather impressive, I must say.
Otoh, according to De Valk the boat is only good for 9kts cruise/12kts max, which ain't much better than what any D vessel of that size can offer.
Also the machinery choice leaves a lot to be desired, imho: the gensets are Fischer Panda (what were they thinking?!), and the engines are light duty rated.
Back to the point, for the stabs they just specify "ARG 4 fins and Zero Speed".
Which is a rather weird description, because afaik ARG was the acronym for Anti Rolling Gyro, the Mitsubishi bit of kit which as I said previously was adopted by Ferretti. And which obviously works at zero speed, as any gyro does.
But what the 4 fins system is, that remains anybody's guess... :ambivalence:

Not anymore. The latest Ferrettis have Seakeepers!

Yup, I know, but I was referring to when the LRC was introduced.
As I recall, she was designed for two ARGs already back then, though I'm not sure if they were included as std.
Regardless, I can't for the life of me remember Ferretti to have offered also fins.

Yup. Again, it's the LRC that I had in mind with my comment.
Indeed they install fins on their Navettas, as well as on the even bigger CRN stuff, of course.
