Hi I took my boom home this eve to free off the pivoting part at the back end of it, where the mainsheet block connects to, "dont know what it is called".
It took some effort to get it freed off but eventually got there, but while I was doing that, I noticed the revits holding the unit into the end of boom were corroded, and I think me turning the boom under great resistance helped to loosen them further, so now I have the unit detached from boom altogether.
Boom is aluminium and so is the end unit, what type of revits should I use? aluminuim or stainless steel? considering the old aluminuim ones were nearly rotted away.
Would appreciate any advice on this.

I would expect the end cap on the boom is cast aluminium like a plug that fits into the hole. The plug can quickly corrode into the boom section if not painted with Duralac on the mating surfaces. So you may not be able to move the plug.
if you wan to get it out then a large "lumphammer" (carefully calibrated bashometer) hitting a chisel around all the circumference may help. If all else fails you may have to shorten the boom and cut off about 50mm where the plug foes in then cut and peel off the scrap.
Usually there is just a bolt through the plug that becomes the pivot for the swinging (rotating ) action. But if you want to rivet the original back on then as suggested monel rivets and a powerfull rivetter gun. good luck olewill (apologies if your situation is not as I imagine)
