In light of the recent trend whereby 95% of SB posts are non-boaty, can I suggest that any boaty posts people may find themselves making in a moment of weakness or lack of inspiration are marked with the boaty icon?

Thought it was supposed to be the other way round, you know.. the NM sign..... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Anyway, more boaty related stories soon... first trip is bound for tomorrow!!!!

Oh bugger, there's alway the PBO section, right?

Without wishing to appear negative about this idea - why have you used the boaty icon to mark this NB thread /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

The non-boaty symbol

This non-boaty icon

seems to me not only too bright and garish, but to the uninitiated looks like the more universal NB (note bene) shouted out loud. To my mind a gif of a crossed out boat would make the point more efectively.

Actually I would suggest a good 2/3 of the posts on Scuttlebut are boat or marine related, I suggest you recount. Does it really bother you so much to write a stiff letter to tell people off......

of the current page of most-recently active threads, 45% are NB (including this one)

a gentle reminder to those starting a NB thread without giving it the big red icon is all that's needed - IMHO

[/ QUOTE ]Erm . . . does this strike you as a stiff letter, Woofy? Obviously you've never had one from me . . .

More a tongue in cheek comment on the general trend of recent posting, I would have thought. Seems to be an outbreak of SOHF going the rounds.
