Being a prospective boat purchaser I got to wondering how the requirements for ‘passion’ on board could be satisfied – by that I mean features of the boat that assist as opposed to hinder this.
But then I thought what are the requirements generally? In the sailing fraternity we are quite a conservative bunch. The boats themselves tend to be cramped, and perhaps damp. If we sail hard we our thoughts are probably of resting when tied up. For those of us who are relative novices, our thoughts are occupied working through how we’ll exit the berth tomorrow without entertaining the onlookers. Perhaps these things don’t generally happen?
When it comes to the boat, what features are conducive with the above activity? Wide salon berths? After cabins with a certain amount of vertical travel underneath the cockpit moulding? The Eberspacher ducted into the master cabin?
