Well today is the first wet day I have had on the boat in 8 weeks, and guess what? We are committed to a rally going to West India dock :-(

So, is it OK to take a boat out in the rain, do I need to take any precautions as it is going to get wet, and is it OK to drive in my Speedo's, could my physique offend visitors to Greenwich which we pass :), or should I have all the covers up?

There must be someone else out there who has taken their boat out in the rain, I have a windscreen wiper so that will help.

I think swmbo and 4yr old daughter will stay in the cabin if covers are left down, so it will be a long slow trip, will I then be a ditch crawler? :-(

We put up the bimini, front and side screens. May rollup the middle part of the front screen to get a clearer view.

As for offending people with your physique and speedos, there are probably very specialist/progressive night clubs in London that would love to see you shake your speedo'ed booty... perhaps.....

Hi Pete,
Whatever you do you are going to get wet, once you accept that don't compromise safety and visibility in a vain attempt to stay dry. Dry off and change when you stop.

If the storm that's just passed through here tracking NE towards E London hits you will get soaked in seconds.... torrential. Also lots and lots of lightning. Enjoy the rally!!

We went out yesterday in the sunshine /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nah..... we all just go out when sunshine and blue skies, no wind and fab viz!

No one else on here has EVER ventured out in the rain. Most of us on here think the world is flat too!
