What a crock of ****,

Bank Holiday Monday and having just milked the last of the cash from the day trippers on Princess Caroline they called last orders at 9:30pm.

I have defended Swanwick for lots of things this year but the Boathouse is an embarrassment both to Premier Marinas and to the owners. I suspect neither are aware that the staff have decided to close early!

Those that have endured the Boathouse at Swanwick in the past may of course decide I have had a lucky escape...

Paul, I've list count how many times during the week I've been asked to either drink up or take my pint outside to finish it last summer when working down there. That's not the way to keep clients and make a successful business, that's why I didn't give it much glory in another post, my leaving the yard was nothing to do with my post. I n fact I'll add that I was greeted by mark and martyn last week and made very welcome.

Yep...a regular occurrence. Truly pants but they have a captive audience so I don't think they really give a damn tbh.

They are part of a small group that includes the Bugle in Hamble.

Perhaps an email to the boss is in order.

Yesterday the tills at the Bugle were not working, so my loyalty card could not be used. Neither did they offer me the discount up front instead. Not a massive deal, but principles are principles.

So supped up and tried the latest incarnation of the R Bar, Beths, Castaways, and numerous other names in the past, and now the Slipway - opposite the Bugle and next door to the King & Queen, offering Mediterranean Fusion food (whatever that is). Anyway, SWMBO wants to go there for our anniversary at the end of the month.

Short walk to the Navigator, I hear it's quite good nowadays

Oh, I heard it was quite pretentious! :)

We had just walked back to the marina in the rain so hoped to have a couple of drinks in the Sh*t-House before turning in. Obviously the staff were desparate to get out and go drinking in a better establishment.

Any idea where they go for a nice atmosphere and a decent pint?

Home :)

Don't blame them, I guess even the staff find the Sh*t-house a disappointment.

Thankfully I retired onboard to find the admiral had filled the fridge with bottles of Peroni which are now ice cold.

Ahhh...now I understand why we got the Stella back lol.

Sunday evening having berthed at Swanwick we walked up the road to The Ship.
I was expecting it be be busy but it was very quiet. With alarm bells ringing we ordered meals. I may try the Navigators next time. Ship is now crossed off.

The xxxxhouse has been rightly re named in the post I have long complained about it and the Ship which is very average, SWANWICK has a loyal following, clearly a good business opportunity for someone to produce a decent restaurant on site!!

I liked Swanwick, its a good marina, but don't miss it.

I was served the worse burger and chips in a long time here. Called in for lunch while checking out Swanwick as possible home for boat last spring. Feel proper spoiled at Haslar with Lightship and Hardy's two minutes walk from boat.
