Boathouse Chichester Marina

Went there last Saturday afternoon for a couple of pints. Nice atmosphere and decor with some comfy seating and a nice log burner to add to the experience. Was quite busy.

I'm sure it'll hit the spinnaker quite hard. Personally I think the yacht club should have opened it's doors to everyone rather than members only as they'll suffer also.

I think you might be correct if it is that nice. I did look at joining the yacht club recently as was getting a bit bored with the spinnaker, but I couldn't find a good reason to join in the end.

I used to be the cruising secretary for the motor section of CYC. Unfortunately they seem to have priced themselves out of the competition. Especially as their cruising program is now almost none existent. When I was a member they had a cruise at least every other weekend. On the plus side, if it's the same as previous, the food is very good.

It just wasn't worth the money for what you get. Food was okay but nothing special and was served a bit like a works canteen. I guess a few years from now it will be gone.

Hi Ricky, we called in to The Boathouse early evening yesterday.

First impressions are very good.

Nice atmosphere and decor. Plenty of very enthusiastic staff. Comfy seating and nice log burner, which was very welcoming after a hard and cold day polishing the hull on Q.

Limited food menu, but looked okay. Not the cheapest though.

My only criticism is that the music playing was too loud. It was not easy to have a conversation across the sofas.

It was getting busy when we left.

I think it will do well. In a different league entirely to the yacht club. Not quite sure where that's going, but never missed it since leaving. In my opinion I feel it's a shame that they messed with.
