I have an interested party wanting to purchase my Folksong and we are looking for contacts & quotes for transportation from Chichester Harbour to Glasgow. Many thanks

The prospective purchaser has first refusal but I am willing to take details from any other interested parties :D.

Shepherd's of Ayrshire http://jsboattransport.co.uk/ very recently quoted my colleague £375 to move a 34' boat from the Clyde across Scotland to the Forth. Chichester to Glasgow will be more but if your buyer has the patience to wait until the boat is a return load when something is going S from Scotland you may be pleasantly surprised.
Cheers.

Why don't you deliver it yourself, cos the 'grey van' in front looks capable! :D

When I wanted to move my Elizabethan 29 from Scotland to Wales I used Seafix and they charged me £1k door to door, which was about half what everyone else quoted! Paul who drives the lorry made sure the boat was squared away on pick up and even had to wait two extra days due to high winds and did not charge extra for this. Here is the link to their web site. I have no connection with them other than being a satisfied customer. http://www.boattransporters.co.uk/

you could also try btx.co.uk you put details on their bulletin board and firms will give a quote. a1transport will you an instant quote online

Curries of Dumfries have a boat transporter and are good at organizing lifting on and off etc. they are a general haulier so not as specialist as Shepherds but worth trying for a quote. I have not used them for a few years but when I did they were keenly priced and efficient. Your Scottish buyer might want to try them.

I used Sealand,
Good outfit, and got my yacht on the drive (narrow access)
Think it was under grand Lytham to Aberdeen, (plus lifts each end)

Can't remember the name but based in n.wales i paid £400 for 32ft ipswich to cardiff.Ask when they have an empty load on return.

All the prices being quoted here seem incredibly cheap. We came close to purchasing a 36 foot cruiser from the Hamble a few months ago and I got some prices for bringing her by road round to the Thames Estuary - they were all well on the way to £2000!

Is that because its on a trailer and can be towed by any suitable vehicle
rather than loaded on a lorry?

Possibly - though if it's just to hitch up a Landrover and haul her on her own trailer, then they begin to sound a bit high to me....
