boat transport recommendations

hi guys, does anyone know of a reputable boat transport person, to be able to collect from Loch Lomond and deliver to premier marina Chichester, thankyou

I used South West Boat Transport Ltd 10 Solent Close Lymington SO41 3ST info@boat-transportation.co.uk.

they were great but mine only came from the Thames to Southampton, obviously the distance between collect and drop off is the significant factor here.

The north south route is probably the busiest in the country and you stand a good chance of getting a back load if you are flexible.

Suggest you google boat transport scotland sussex and get quotes from those that come up. Most have on line quoting and quick response. This will give you a guide on prices then you can talk to them about the possibility of back load. JS (John Sheppard) is one that comes up regularly as a good bet, but in reality they are almost all good. I used South West from Wales to Poole last year and they were fine.

If they already have a boat booked to transport it going south to north then you may get a good deal, if you are flexible, so that the lorry does not have to return empty.

Coast to coast brought my boat from Bristol - good service and price. I bought an earlier boat from Marine Sales Scotland on Loch Lomond and had it shipped down to Chichester by a local firm John Sherherd Transport 07836 706119 - good price

Coast to coast brought my boat from Bristol - good service and price. I bought an earlier boat from Marine Sales Scotland on Loch Lomond and had it shipped down to Chichester by a local firm John Sherherd Transport 07836 706119 - good price

thats where my boat is coming from, lol! and going to the same marina, ive had a price off John shepherd already, so I just want a couple more so that I can compare, thanks

yes I have, there seems to be a big difference to someone towing the vehicle, and it being put on a lorry, to be honest I rather it go on a lorry, its really borderline for towing ,and I want it to get here in one piece

that was a consideration, but it would just be too expensive, its about 1250 miles by sea, would take too long, and would be about 4k in fuel.

I used RMS Transport. Based here in Cornwall but he is all over the UK transporting boats. Very professional, thoroughly nice and very reasonable. He's called Robin.

Coincidentally two Shepherds low loaders arrived at Largs yesterday, with a yacht and motor boat from Hamble to Largs. See them a lot up here and look very professional

I have used John Shepherd, worth getting a quote from him.
