How many forumites will be taking their boat to EU (France, Portugal, Spain, Greece etc) before the 31st December 2020 and leaving them there to ensure Status of Eunion goods rights and able to stay in EU to avoid the 90 over 180 days fiasco.

Status of boat as Union goods has not relevance to Schengen length of stay rules.

The customs union status of goods in no way affects the Schengen entry status of the owner.

It means you won't have to pay VAT or import duty on the boat if it's there for more than 18 months. You will still be limited to 90 in 180.

Wouldn't that mean a VAT bill if/when reimported to Englandshire?
Yes. You will no longer be deemed VAT paid in the UK unless the government changes the legislation which they have promised to do.

Totally different to taking a boat outside the EU and returning as the date is an EU and UK triggering event.
