Did anyone else see the picture in Fridays Sun..... ( I only bought it for the boat picture honest )....... of the cruiser somewhere off of guernsey stuck on a rock right next to what looks like an isolated danger mark.

As the tide went out this thing has been left tottering on the top of these rocks about 30ft out of the water and looks somewhat precarious to say the least, looks like a big insurance claim to me !

... as the tides were neaping, chances are he could have been there for quite some time! He was lucky they managed to force it over without causing too much further damage.

Moral -check which side of the lighthouse the rocks are......

Any chance of you scanning the piccy and posting it - sounds like one worth seeing!

On a similar subject I saw something similar last week on the river Odet in Brittany (betweeen Benodet and Quimper) - a rather nice twin masted yacht was tight on her morings and against the rocky bank several feet above the river at low tide. If my pictures come out OK i'll post them to my web site and publish the URL. Sure the owner will appreciate it and see the funny side!!

Actually, they had it as a little item at the end of the national news, con't remember which channel. The boat looked like a late seventies/early eighties Birchwood 33. She looked like the fairy on top of the christmas tree.

This one was actually a Moonraker - it's in the Mail as well today. It was a UK boat, so to be fair he was not a local.

The local press says that the chap was taking it for a run before putting it on the market!

One of those days it wold have been better to stay in bed...

I thought I could just make out the name - it looked a little like Amoureuse or something similar! Does this sound familiar to anyone?!!!!

Amoureuse is still tucked up in her berth at KIP and the purchaser does not take possession until 1 September. I've already told you - your card's marked come the revolution!
