Boat stereo aux in

Can anyone help please, I have a Sony head unit but it doesn't accept Bluetooth, there is also an autochanger that obviously we do use. I have purchased a Bluetooth receiver unit which has the same connection as the autochanger, I have (maybe naively)simply connected the Bluetooth receiver to the same port as the autochanger was connected to thinking that would channel the signal into the head unit but alas nothing. The port is marked bus in, but I am not sure what that means, as I said I thought simply a signal goes in that port and comes out of the speakers.
I guess I am over simplyfing this?
Any suggestions would be welcome.

PS I have no trouble connecting to the Bluetooth unit .

What sort of input is it? You might be over simplifying it unless it's a 3.5 mm jack or phono input.

This is the unit and the connection, as I said the connection is the same as the old autochanger. I can't get an image small enough to upload but the connection is a bit like an aerial coax connection.
