\'Boat Show Model\'

Why do people put 'Boat Show Model' in their adverts as if this is some kind of attraction to prospective purchasers?
To me 'Boat Show Model' means a hastily cobbled together prototype which the salesmen probably finished tarting up minutes before the Show opened (or during the Show for a few I could mention) and then gets trampled over by the great unwashed for a week and a half after which the new owner spends years arguing with the manufacturer about the inevitable warranty problems and the manufacturer realises all the mistakes he's made which he then puts right on subsequent builds
Or am I missing something here?

Oh cynical one.

Fancy thinking that a product from such an efficient industry could suffer in this way.

The moons out and there goes another cow.

And has been dragged across europe in the cold of winter, probably damaged by falling trees and branches.

Oh yes somebody probably used the toilet on the boat at the show.

Re: \'Boat Show Model\'

this is a true story...
at a boat show a couple of years ago a new Maxum cruiser which was standing on the hard and had literally just had the shrink wrap taken off was "christened" during the festivities of the night by an acquaintance of an acquaintance and a helpful young girl he had just met - when the mood took them and there was nowhere else for them to go the shiny new boat provided shelter.

(seemingly it was just as well it still had the coverings over the upholstery becuase it wasn't the best time of the month to indulge in that sort of thing if you know what I mean!)

I always wondered who bought that boat and whether they found any wee surpises stowed away anywhere

<hr width=100% size=1>can you make it go any faster?
