Boat show discounts?

Is it worth venturing down or are big discounts assigned to history. I am looking to order a new beta engine and curious if anyone has done similar and recieved any saving.

TS Marine will probably be able to do you a better price than Beta direct. Go onto the Beta stand and ask for Scott.

I know it was a few years ago now but I found that Beta were very willing to negotiate on price. I got a shallow sump and an uprated control panel on top of the boatshow price deal. That was a week or so after the show had ended.
