Good morning,
I am based in Ipswich and need to get our boat painted, topsides only. We have owned the already painted boat for 20 years and after our trip to Bristol through the K&A canal last year ( over 200 locks) it is looking decidedly worse for wear. I got a quote from Fox's in Nov. which is at the top of my range and would like one or two more quotes. There are one or two yards at the top of the Deben that I know little about, maybe possibilities or any other thoughts. I don,t want a brushed finish.

SYH Levington did a very good job on my boat 15 years ago (sprayed Awlcraft 2000). Still looks good. I would think their prices are on a par with Foxs.

HMS at Ipswich Haven I've no idea what their price point is.

Speak to Gus or Sarah at Kings in Pinmill. They can spray but also have a guy who can brush paint. You would be hard pressed to spot the difference !

Thanks for the replies.
I'm getting two more quotes to compare with my original and the thing that could decide things is the lead time. We'll see.

I have first hand experience of Larkmans (see post #6) who did a lovely job on our previous boat, a Barbican 33. They are pretty busy in the spring with getting boats ready and launching, but I would certainly recommend talking to them.
