From today we are left at the mercy of IPC with the demise of Boat and Sportsboat. There is now no practical mag' for motor boats at all. A sad day for marine publishing and all the employees at CSL who are suddenly jobless.

And readers. IPC should buy it (Boat) and stop pretending that "Practical Boat Owner's" Staff are interested in Power Boats. They Should re-name PBO into "Practical Sail" and BOAT into "Practical Power"

And here was me just about to place an order for an annual subcription.
Still taking orders though http://www.mysubcare.com/magazine_particulars.asp?new=y&magid=CL1&name=Boat Mart which I find confusing.
And yes, whilst the publishers CSL mention the demise on their website, there's nothing to indicate anything out of the ordinary on the Boat Mart home page http://www.boatmart.co.uk/.
So, are CSL saying it's still available electronically but not in hard copy in the shops?
They are 'reviewing' in the spring, but I find the comments about being unsustainable in winter months strange - don't know about everyone one else, but I'm more likely to read in the winter months!
Maybe they're talking in terms of advertisers, not magazine buyers?
They stopped pretending a while ago.
They changed the strap line from "for sail and power" to "britains best selling sailing magazine"
They told neither subscribers nor advertisers when they changed their focus. ( I WAS both)
They then did a marina guide where they excluded all marinas without saily boat air draft just to rub it in.
They then tried to charge 6 months when I cancelled my advert.
Shame.
I've just found out that RIB magazine has rebranded itself as Powerboat and RIB and intends to cover all motor boats up to 45 feet with lots of practical content. I'm looking forward to seeing the first copy. There's hope for us yet!
Me too, not a bad mag and I'm sure I recognised a contributor from SB&R so hopefully some or all have transferred across.
