Anyone know of somewhere other than Fosdyke, that has a crane or other lift out facility, in the area of The Wash ?
Not keen on dunking the trailer :o

Dunk the trailer and immediately wash it with a jet wash......save,save,save.

Normally I would do just that, however, the trailer is huge in comparison to the old one, so if I used the same slipway as when I launched, the trailer would probably be all the way into the river and stuck in mud by the time it went under my keels
Other than that, I don't think Ken would object to my dunking it, as it's his trailer

A dunking wouldn't be too much to worry about, but it's making sure how it sits on the trailer first.....

Angle of the slip at Surfleet is quite shallow, and only as far as the edge of the river, so unless I can catch it with the water level very high, I'm worried the trailer might go over the edge of the concrete and get stuck in the mud. If it wasn't for that it wouldn't take too much moving about to get her on right

bleedin'gullible in Essex

Hope you enjoy it down there can I come sailing please

(have they got water down there?).

wells but i guess too far for you, or find out when boston marina has a crane in for their boats. could come to wainfleet but it's a mad rush and it would just confuse things with your boat coming out when rest are going in although could ask if needed.

Thanks Alex, but it sounds more and more like I'm going to have to wait until the local lift out is due, they get a crane in much like Boston and your place then split the cost. Worked out at £15 when we lifted the Birchwood

The EA slipway at fosdyke is a weird one,i could not get my trailer down the slipway as the apex was the wrong angle.

You could motor up the nene, theres a couple of slipways up there
