Thinking of taking the family and the boat down to cornwall for a week, we normally go to Looe or there abouts, but I am not sure where the slip ways are that I could use. any help appreciated.

Plenty of slips ( Mylor harbour, Falmouth watersports, Ponsharden ) and places to go around Falmouth, Carrick Roads, St Mawes and the Helford river.

Slipway at Looe is in Millpool car park , about 21/2 hrs either side of high tide. Swinging moorings to hire at just upstream of Looe bridge from Pearns boatyard (last went to Looe about 5 yrs ago and the price seemed very reasonable) and they have tender available for your use. The moorings have enough water for use around 3hrs either side of high water. Make sure you get a chart though, some nasty rocks off Looe island (the Ranneys) and if you venture between the island and mainland the deep water is nearest the island. Have fun , Looe is a smashing place, and if you want to see real boat handling stand on the fish quay when the fishing boats come in, brilliant, they seem to be able to drop right alongside in one move in a gap about 6ft longer than their own boat!!
