Boat in build pics (2013 Fairline Squadron 78)

I thought JFM had said there was a transponder fitted, it may just be set to receive though I guess.
Yes, both Match 1 and 2 have the Garmin AIS600 transponder, with the 2 "secrecy" terminals wired to a switch on the dash to turn off the transmit function and leave it as receive only. For 99% of the time i leave the transmit off. I only turn it on for low viz passagemaking, or to allow others to find me when group cruising. In the Cote D'Azur, if you leave it switched on you get constant hassle on ch 16 "Yacht Match this is signal station Cap Ferrat" calling you to ask your destination, eta, how many persons on board, etc. Plus the office can track me too easily :)

Outstanding. You must be pleased as a pleased thing! Beautiful photo by EME with the evening sun shining and everything looking just right.

Congratulations on getting Match "home" JFM . I would imagine the moment that you finally secured the lines and turned of the engines in Antibes was was a veeery satisfying moment  .
And a big thanks for posting all the build detail , been really interesting , again :D .

jfm - I bet your glad that saga is over!

All the best for Match2 - may she bring you much happiness in the coming years.

A marvelous conclusion to another marvelous thread. I think I made only a couple of responses on the thread but followed it with great enjoyment as I did with Match 1. One observation I will make and that is a compliment and a big thanks to JFM, his attention to all posts made and a timely and helpful response to all. Thankyou JFM and enjoy many happy hours aboard Match 2.

just to echo what's already been said John, thanks for starting this thread, keeping it updated, interesting and welcoming some of us on board when Match II was in the UK. Now time for some (more) fun... you've gotta get the Top Gear team on film using the quad copter? :)

Yep, epic thread indeed J, and magnificent vessel.
Thanks a lot for sharing the experience with us.
Looking forward to seeing M2 in flesh soon, hopefully in some beautiful bay!

Hi JFM,

Nearing the end of an epic thread, but now you have the real thing not just the planning and headaches, enjoy, she's a thing of beauty.

From me , also many thanks for finding the time between work, overseeing the build and the myriad tasks of sourcing and speccing, to post in such detail so much information. With your significant experience, encyclopaedic knowledge and OCD nature, this thread has been inspirational and educational.

I hope to meet you one day in the med when I have finished my own planning and made my purchase, and see the fab beast in the flesh.

Well done and congratulations, jfm. Both SWMBO and I wish you many happy boating days!

Likewise jfm. Mrs Meddy and I would like to congratulate you and wish you much happiness and relaxation with M2.......................

..................at least for the the next few weeks until someone comes along and admires it so much that they want to buy it and you start thinking about what you would want to do differently next time...........................:D
