There is no 60-40 split in France. In SoF you will currently pay anywhere between €1.41 ( last week from the tanker) to €1.70 (Antibes fuel berth) a few weeks ago. Prices do vary as they do anywhere so always worth a phone call before making a commitment. There is competition between the varying tanker companies at the moment --- that seems good.
Yup ship is in Gandia a bit south of Valencia, now. This is yet another example in my opinion of the shyster nature of shipping companies and I won't ever use Sevenstar again. After asking questions on the point (prompted by a sense of evasiveness I detected in their emails) I now realise they are craning Match off the ship and putting her on the quayside in Gandia, along with I guess the hattan73, while they open the hatches to unload the base cargo from the holds. If they had told me this before booking ( and it came up in discussions but they were not candid) I would never have booked with themI see apollogracht is now showing eta gandia. Tomorrow 08.00 so must have been unloaded and looking ahead of schedule ?

That's not how fuel works in France. There is no vat reclaim. The concessions will anyhow likely end this September so it has become academic. From then everyone will use white as EME prices above, except mega yachts who can refuel in Gib or MaltaI don't know JFM's exact set up, but there are some concessions in France enabling "commercial" charter boats to buy low tax fuel and JFM may be able to reclaim the VAT (tva) making it unnecessary to fill before shipping even if that was allowed by the shipping company.
Shipping contract expressly limited me to 3000 litres so I honoured that and she had 2800 iircjohn does that mean you filled her up before shipping her or did you have to ship her with ltd fuel??????

Nothing I can do. They have my boat and my money. But I take back my earlier praise for them and I'd recommend anyone Shipping a yacht to use psp (as I now wish I'd done and intended to, but I was doing a favour to Essex boatyards, long story too hard to expl hence I used Sevenstar on this occasion but never again) because in my opinion PSP are the most straightforward and honest

Blimey J, you can say that again!Nothing I can do. They have my boat and my money. But I take back my earlier praise for them
Shipping companies don't give a toss. They never have a face to face relationship with their customers ie the people who own the stuff they carry and they know any damage will be covered by somebody's insurance. In any case the ship's master is god of all he surveys and he has the right to shift his load about as he sees fitI can't believe the risks they are taking with some very expensive and fragile cargo, what about the cover, does that have to come off to?

Out of curiosity, didn't they at least inform you before unloading the other boats in Palma, giving you a chance to unload also M2 there and then?
That's surely what I would have done, if given a chance.
If they told you nothing about the Gandia trick, it obviously means that they were hoping to hide it, which is more idiotic than dishonest.
Then again, I guess nothing beats having your boat delivered to Southampton and unloaded in Eastern Scotland instead...
No mapis. The first time they told me match would be offloaded onto the dockside in Gandia was after the ship had left Palma. Otherwise yes I'd just have flown to Palma and offloaded there. And yes the Scotland Southampton case is another example of shyster behaviour. Basically you can't trust Sevenstar to tell you the whole truth IMHO. I can get livid LJS but tbh there ain't any point. I just have to hope there is no damage. They will i understand but am not sure, lift the cradle not the boat and they will leave the cover onBlimey J, you can say that again!

Sure but you kinda monumentally miss the point about integrity and fair dealings.Sometimes its best not know, go too deep behind things.
1000's of boats are shipped too and throw worldwide and arrive undamaged , but maybe dirty .
The cover should mitigate against this .
Anther 1000 or so are trucked up/ down Euorpe - all safley.
Iam assuming transit insurance has been taken as is the norm?
Sailing it down in my view is more risky than this ( with an extra lift off / on ).
In terms of wear and tear and potential damage .
Next time you order veal or pheasant or even eat an egg - you don,t really want to know how it got to the plate .
Or what happened inbetwwen S Hampton and Genoa?? When JFM turns up to collect -assuming all is ok I,am sure it will be.
Many Super Yachts are moved by ship in the Autum from Med to Carribean ,and in the spring back .All uneventful .
Shipping it is the sensible option with out a doubt
Remember every year it will be lifted put at the shipyard at least once .
