Mmm, probably good for his heart too. No room in the truck (I assume this load will need a crew of two in there), and following in the escort vehicles would have you breaking out in a cold sweat and tugging at your collar everytime you spied an overhanging branch.
I stil think it needs its own thread . . . :)

Looks like the tarp belongs to the transport company, but nonetheless I think you make a good point there, it would be a golden opportunity for Fairline to get some major Kudos and free advertising (aside from the negative aspects of holding up the traffic).

A great big white tarp with "Another bespoke quality luxury motor yacht from Fairline" or similar. Always helps to explain to the great British public why they're being kept waiting

Debbie made me do it, she was looking over my shoulder at the time with threatening me with DIY duties if I didn't. I grew a pair when asked to post a request for the inside of the powder draw to be photographed though ;)
 
Now it's all together Match 2 looks fabulous and I have to admit that the white caulking looks the business too. It'll be interesting to see how it weathers, assuming it has time to weather before Match 3 is commissioned :D

But I thought about your points at the design stage and so the design of the cabinets (carcass edge left exposed and top/bottom walnut trims just "planted on") has been deliberately done so that any future owner can easily add 3 walnut panels/doors to hide the front of the machines, if they wish. I have deliberately done it that way rather than buying "integrated" appliances like those washing machines that you can attach kitchen door hinges to: those appliances unfortunately are low spec and you cannot get the same high spec (in terms of Kg of load and 30min wash cycles, etc) in those appliances, at least not in Miele (and you'd be crazy not to spec Miele on a boat like this)

In the main galley the dishwasher has a display panel across the top rather than being fully integrated, though it does have a wood door below. Reason for chosing this model is that it is pretty clever, well over £2k worth, and does things like opening the door electrically a few inches then blasting the plates with hot air so everything is washed and dried in <30mins. To do all this it needs a touchscreen with softkeys rather than a few buttons on the top edge of the door as you'd get with a fully integrated, so I've had to pay the price (small imho) of having a control panel on display. The control panel shares the same touchscreen and softkey/menu architecture as the 2 ovens, so the chef only has to learn one basic Miele "menu language".

I'll get her a pic Gary. It's got a crocodile skin top with lift up mirror and all the inside is lined in black flock with little compartments for hair drier and stuff, LOL! At this point I do get all Deleted User-ish about it so dont ask for more info than that!

Fairline tell me that until a few years ago they did exactly that. Big sign on the tarp said almost what you've written, with "made in UK and exported all over the world" added. All fairline got tho was calls from irate A14 drivers, so they switched to incognito policy :-)

That's what I thought oGaryo's missus was asking for, seemed a bit of an odd request :D

BTW, I'm not shadowing the load. It is painfully slow and the guys doing it are doing it for the 92nd time so they must be pretty expert at it by now :D. The boat will get built up indoors in Fairline's huge Ipswich shed this weekend, and launched maybe Monday. I'll see it saturday if poss, and do the seatrials wednesday if I have time. Today and tomorrow I'm slaving away at the orifice :-). Pics above were sent to me by the nice folks at Fairline

Ah, blimey, I've completely got wrong end of stick there then. I thoght she meant dressing table drawer or summink. Deleted User will be pleased I've got limits to my "metropolitanism" then. I'll get a pic of the powder drawer on the wash machine if needed but Debbie might be better er drooling on the miele website, www.meile.de for the true authentic drool :D

What a shame our travelling public are so impatient, and narrow minded.
I love to see such things on the road (or anywhere - rail, sea etc) - large, high value loads made in England and proudly proclaiming it.
Just shows how the understanding of the importance of manufacturing has eroded. Hence, the major shortage of engineers these days.
Don't get me started on that one...

Definitely into the hangar. I bet she arrives middle of day tomorrow. Once in the hanger they install props, rudders, fins, swim platform etc, and remove all the internal packing material. Then they launch it, and attach the mast with a long arm crane. I think. I expect it will be in the hangar over the weekend and launched Monday but I'm not sure. Sea trials with caterpillar + sleipner etc are in the diary for Wednesday and I might go but depends how diary pans out 'cos I'm busy atm. If you see it please grab some pics (please!) and feel free to post on here

No problem, will probably take a ride over at some point over the weekend, if I see her I will get some photos. When they do the seatrials will they take her out to sea or just down the river?

Goodo. They go all the way down the river then out to sea so they can run at full speed
 
Nice to see how important the little details are, and how those details evolve (I've been reading most of the story). The attention to quality above the waterline is evident so I'm curious to know if you have still gone with rubber shaft bearings? seeing as you seem to have been involved down to the nuts and bolts of how she went together?

I hope the final stages go to plan, bet you can't wait to start some adventures with her.
