So they started the discounts for berthing under lockdown, now most of there marinas are open , in England , do you think they should give discount for May for the marinas that are still under lockdown !! .Thoughts please.
 
A yard customer for lifts etc at Deacons, not a berthholder. Very happy with the team there!

What an appalling re-brand - Boatf*ck! who in their right mind thought that name up...

To be honest, whilst the offer of discounts is a nice thing to do, I don’t see any obligation for it to be offered. It isn’t the marinas fault that we can’t use our boats and the charge is for a mooring, which we are still using. May be a case to the contrary if they are making savings by furloughing people on the Govt‘s ticket.

Yes and no business rates.
 
most yards are still gaining from this CV19 , I’ve travelled a few marinas in the last week , reduced staff levels, boats not being lifted or put back in on time due to alleged staff issues , more like bad running .
No toilets available to anyone whatsoever and not a care at all, towards anyone .
I won’t name but all were big players, so there costs are reduced by not having to clean them for a start .
One marina wouldn’t give the gate code allegedly said that the code pad was turned off , only way I could get in was to phone and he would come and let me in , he got pissed off at the 3rd time I asked him yet the previous week the system was in operation , what I have found is that some marinas welcome outside contractors with no fuss at all , when others make you feel like a fart in a space suit , yet they are from the same group . Why the groups don’t have a standard procedure I don’t know , every one up to now has been different in there approach to this.
