I have an inboard mercruiser engine in my speedboat and I made the mistake and left the boat with the throttle clutch/primer open a little bit for 5 hours. Immediately after I tried starting the boat and it was starting but would die after a couple seconds of getting up and running. I figured it was flooded. 15 hours later I tried starting it and same thing but noticed the engine stays on running fine while the choke is on and even in idle but when I let go of the key from the start position the engine dies. Any ideas?
