Boat covers

It's that time for new boat covers and in the past I've used C&J who's covers seem to be highly recommended and possibly the best but not cheap. Is there anyone else I should consider before giving the go ahead or please just put my mind at rest that C&J are the place to go.

Location is south coast.

I used C& J once on the old boat and the job was great. Same did not apply on current boat. The cover was dreadful. In fact the rear section was made six inches short, and the replacement when it did eventually turn up it was not the same colour.

With hindsight, I should have rejected the whole thing.

For the latest cover, I used Jim Baumann - JB Yacht Services. Phone number is 01489 572487 / 07775 594949

This guy is in a different league. He quoted the best price, and the best delivery time. And is a top bloke.

The cover turned up on time at the price quoted and had several mods over the original, and is simply miles better. We're really delighted with it. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Let me know if you want to have a look - It's currently at the house, as tonneau is on the boat.
 
Try Comfort Afloat, Gosport. I had a cockpit enclosure made there several years ago and I've been very happy with it. The price was reasonable.
 
I've used both JB and C+J, and I'd recommend JB. If he has a fault, it is that he does tend to make covers perhaps a bit tight, so they look great once fitted, but can be a bit tricky to get on. That said however, the overall package with Jim is great and I am a repeat customer.
 
Tecsew in Gosport. Has probably the best design software. Beautifully made and will incorporate your requirements.
 
Just had a new cover for our T47 made by Jim B. We wanted a few changes in the design to the old one (original cover from new) which he designed and then incorporated. Totally recommend as above.
 
As others have said, recommend JB Yacht Services. Made quite a few bespoke modifications and nothing seemed to be a problem, and helpful with making suggestions etc. He was also cheaper than the others e.g. Tecsew and CJ.
 
Karen at A1 Covers. Based by Hamble and fantastic quality and very very reasonable price. I have just recently used them and I am really pleased with the work. Definitely get a quote from them - 07921458818
 
JB seem to be getting a really good press! We have used Sussex Boat Shop for both covers and interior upholstery and they did a really good job at a sensible price which beat CJ hands down. They are based in Chichester Marina and Littlehampton so could be convenient too.
 
Karen at A1 Covers is doing a new set of covers for me as we speak. I cant speak for the quality of the covers yet as the boat has only just been templated, but she did come highly recommended so I am confident they will be excellent, and the pricing was very good.
 
+1 for Karen at A1 Covers...made our new camper cover towards the end of the season and its really good. Got the old one on for the winter so the new one will go back on in March for the relaunch....took a little while but well worth the wait. Price was as quoted on day one.
 
Suusex Boat Shop in Littlehampton/Chichester did a good job on our previous boat and the price wasn't bad either.. Worth a call if nothing else..

+1 for JB. He rattles through what he plans to do though so make him slow down and explain it at normal people speed. He is open to challenges as well which is good. If you don't like his first idea, he will have several others.
