Hi,
Can anyone advise me of a local company that would visit Hasler and do a outside wash and wax of my boat.
Also any ideas where to get a lift and antifoul and reasonable prices.

Thanks for any information

There is the Sealift within Haslar Marina that will do the lift, scrub,Antifoul and relaunch.
You provide the materials they do the work. They will also do wash and wax.

Yep - just done it. They lift at 9am, scrub off very well including a fairly basic polish on the props and shafts which they are happy to let you twiddle with afterwards. They then put on one coat, leave the boat till about 3pm, put on the next coat, leave it overnight and drop you in 9am next morning. They were significantly cheaper than a seperate crane out and yard labout charge. That said they wanted what I thought was a lot of money to polish the topsides so I declined that - I imagine they use some very fancy polishes - not the excellent Mer I use

Endeavour Quay just round the corner from Haslar did our anti foul last year and made a great job of it.

The Sealift is a fantastic bit of kit but I like the boat to be out of the water for a while prior to anti fouling in order for it to dry out a bit.

Henry :)

Just got prices in from a boatyard. Lift power wash and re launch £200.

Polish +hull £350
Topsides £250

More than I would normally pay at Brighton. I mean to say its only 21 foot long and 2 of us antifoul and polish all in a day.

Two places to try, Gosport Boat Yard 02392-526534, or Shipshape 02392-324500

We have used shipshape for a long time now but they let me down quite badly recently so I will be looking to use someone else for our P50. They were quite expensive, a lot cheaper to use an owner operator, but I took the view that by paying a premium I could rely on them. I was mistaken.

Edited to say:

If you are looking for a professional surface prep and polish why not contact Marine Reflections on this forum

Have used both of the above over the last two years.

Sealift were fantastic but their timings for antifouling at the time meant we stayed aboard overnight while up in the air. Not a huge problem but Sealift in Cowes has no shoreside access and we forgot to get the tender out before we were lifted.

Endeavour Quay collected the boat from the berth, took loads of photos and emailed to me before, during and after the antifouling. They also took loads of photos of the anodes so I could decide what to do without having to go to the boatyard.

Would recommend and use both again.

Paul.

I had Play d'eau lifted in the Haslar Sea-Lift last weekend, and it was really superb. Drove in at 9am, the guys there pressure washed the hull, cleaned the topsides and polished the topsides and antifouled her.

That gave us time to brick clean the shafts and props, change the anodes, drill the hull and instal another transducer.

And we left at 3 the next day.

In all, maybe a week's worth of work done in two days. Value for money - without doubt.

Did the Sea-lift guys work hard - without doubt, and non-stop.

Recommended wholeheartedly.

Send a pm to tamarind off this forum he is based at port Solent but is mobile, he also travels to swanwick Marina should anyone need him there, either pm me or him for details of wash downs, polishing, antifouling etc, along with engine and drive servicing.

Second that-our long keel cutter was with them two days-due to bad weather-and had a pressure wash, two coats of Jotun Sea Queen and a hull polish. She looks superb and it was little dearer than a lift, two weeks on the hard and a relaunch. It did not knacker First Mate and I either. well recomended.
