Do boat breakers exist? there must be 00's of boats that are not going to see the water again and I'm looking for interior fittings to either modify or adapt for my latest Guy Thompson project. Few interior lights on ebay etc, but does anybody know any yards who flog interior fittings etc.? ta.

There was a place in Dorset which claimed to buy any boat to break but which it seemed was more of a bedroom dream than an actual functioning business. I wonder if that listing is related.

OP, there is a fascinating boat junk yard, "Cornwall Boat Parts", at Penrhyn Wharf up the river from Falmouth. The opening hours are erratic, to put it mildly, and the service can be a little monosyllabic, but it's worth a visit if you are passing.

Andy Seedhouse at Woodbridge has a fair bit of 2nd hand stuff for sale. Also, do a search for a chap called Roy operating from a unit in Oulton Broad in Lowestoft - I can't remember the name of his business I'm afraid but he has an Aladdin's cave of nautical goodies. Perhaps someone else on here will know him...

I don't know him, but I was given his card by Martin Evans (surveyor) who recalled seeing a Taylor's stove there and duly picked it up for me (a very good deal!). Here we are:

Thats the fella. He's a great guy but be prepared to be told to "f*** off" when you commence with the haggling. Persevere - its just part of his unique selling technique.

I bought our snapdragon from Andy Seedhouse. Good deal and both Andy and James were extremely helpful. I have already had stuff out of their second hand shed, but to find a "boat breakers yard" would be a dream come true.
