Seems like these are both over the same weekend (20-22nd May). Seems an odd thing to do, particularly with exhibitors attending both events.

A few people I know said the 5k cost to exhibit at Swanwick was keeping them away, not sure what it costs for Poole but their exhibitor list is a lot bigger, Swanwick seems to just want the bigger boats there and is not interested in other marine related companies.

£5k doesn't sound like a lot to attend an exhibition. Maybe the idea behind having the BMYS and Poole shows on the same dates is that some punters coming from further afield will be tempted to make a weekend of it and attend both shows whereas if they were on different dates they would probably only attend one or other. This would give exhibitors attending both shows 2 chances to sell to the same punter, some of whom could be serious buyers

5k not a lot if you are Sunseeker, but is for smaller company who wants a bit of space on car park, or just to bring one small boat.

It's about £500 to have a (small) pitch on the quay.
