Hi all,

I'm not sure if this should be in the PBO, Bird Poo Special Forces, etc etc forums but I have just acquired a very blue bird poo stain on my gelcoat which so far is resisting treatment. Do any of you gang have any wonder tips? (Other than painting the boat blue :D )

cheers in advance.

You type faster than me @stephen_h ! Was going to say:
A daily spattering, of purple-berry deck-staining poo, had me worried whilst in Northney for a couple of autumn weeks. Defied all attempts to shift the blotches, even if tackled within hours of impact! But UV seemed to shift them, once I left. They just faded on their own.

Thanks for that.. That's reassuring..

I have found citric acid or white vinegar are good stain removers on GRP (and on Teak) but possibly less potent than the oxalic acid already tried.
Some patience and repeat treatment is likely to be necessary.
