It rather looks like Portland/Chesil and the Lyme Bay ports are in for a pasting, certainly on Tuesday pm.....

There are definitely times I'm glad Jissel's tucked up safe in the club compound, with equally tubby bilge keelers on either side.

I'd love to be on the Bill watching the sea from a safe place, behind double glazing, but I won't be going there - too much risk of this old dog getting blown off his chain!

My family have a hut/chalet on Portland Bill. There used to be a small sea stack just off shore from the access road past the Coastguard Cottages. A solid lump maybe 70 foot tall and 20 foot wide. My late father reported that he was astonished to wake up one morning after a stormy night to find the thing toppled.

That coast takes a pounding in southern gales West Bay harbour entrance is terifying in an on shore blow

Castle Cove Sailing Club have a web cam looking out across the yard and into Portland Harbour but it's members only. I'm not sure if I like looking at my boat getting battered by the wind and rain but at least it's still upright.
