Bleach ?

I was making idle conversation with a fellow Ramsgate dweller who was cleaning his saloon roof, when I got a strong wiff of bleach.When asked he said it was excellent for removing any stains in the GRP, especially rust or Diesel stains.
My question is... Could bleach damage the gel coat in any way ?
If not I might give it a go myself..

Work away with the bleach and loads of it! Just make sure to only leave it to sit for no more than 5 mins then rince with copious amounts of water. This will not damage anything.

just take great care that any bleach doesn't contact something acidic such as vinegar or battery acid, especially with a splash of sea water.

Chlorine gas is sort of deadly, and it plays havoc with metal surfaces.
