Blackwater to Oostende

The Hurley I bought was in Mylor which I then sailed round to Ipswich in May 2017. Being solo I don't find the cabin space available too much of an issue on passage however on bad weather days in marina it is preferred to find a pub to sit in.

Going back to Fairy bank, it appears the chart depths are actually much deeper, more like 8-9m so in theory I cannot have actually seen the bottom. The water clarity was quite good at that particular time in the morning. The shallow readings I saw makes me wonder how often the area gets surveyed?

We always go over the Flemish Banks never an issue ( so far )

Ha! The Hurley I bought was from Feock, just round the corner from Mylor! Mine lived on mornings - Exe, then Salcombe, then Tamar. Sailed far and wide round Devon, Cornwall, Scillies, and Brittany, and many pubs sat in. Mainly solo, but also two up.

The cabin was fine, really, just my later Samphire 23 was only 11" longer, but somehow seemed to have a lot more 'inside', and more comfortably/sophisticatedly done. The Hurley 22 was a bloody good boat, though, that would take any weather that was thrown at it.
