Having recently bought a reliable 4 stroke cruising jet ski (I can almost feel the daggers), currently planning a day trip on the Clyde west coast. Plan is a 100 mile round trip round the kyles of bute, stopping off at tignabruich and Bute along the way.
Sensible weather will be the key.
Originally planned to do it with the boat, but don’t fancy exposing it to the salt and she would be gutsy at the pace of need to keep up to do it in a day.

Busy doing work on the boat and enjoying the southern hemisphere Summer - which has been late and is so far variable as it was last year. After having the boat on the hard for 5 months last summer i'm trying to get some usage!

Fixed generator undervolt fault (cap blew)
Replaced water gauge - this: (recommended!) http://www.hendersons.co.uk/boattank/tank-level-gauge.html
Temp repair to port gearbox stuck selector- awaiting parts for permanent fix.
Going down soon to remove Quark Elex G022 GSM monitor / switch to send back to factory for firmware update.
Also need to give boat a GOOD wash to remove green and spider poo!
Got my mates boat to service next week, and also finish installation of G022 GSM monitor / switch.
First trip booked for beginning of March - 6 days, first time with new baby. Still need to sort baby sleeping arrangements (probably portable bassinet)

How very perceptive. My boat is in a million pieces at the moment just at that point where you start getting bored of it all.
Winter maintenance. That time when you have to pay the fiddler for all your summer sins.

Not sure what boat you have but when my daughter was a baby I made a custom mattress under the saloon table and added a wooden end piece. Boat was a small cranchi endurance 33
In our targa 40 I used cot sides that slide under the mattress and were great in the single beds.

Yesterday I accidentally locked SWMBO in the engine room whilst servicing the generator. I went off to get some more oil so left her in for an hour or so. This was not calculated to impress so boat may have to be put on sale to finance divorce settlement.

New boat just before Christmas so......NO liftout, upgrades or annual maintenance required this winter!!! Just getting out there and using it.

Oh dear! I'm not quite sure whether I should be laughing or offering condolences. All I can say is winter is no time to be spending nights in the dog house. Maybe one of those cheap Chinese diesel heaters might come in handy about now.

I'm looking forward to the henryf Boot Review. Until then, for those that haven't been, it is a great show, huge exhibition halls, plenty of room and incredible variety of boats. Easy to access from the airport. Most of us did in in a (long) day trip, made longer by the airports inability to cope with a sprinkle of snow. issues at both ends, not just LHR.

I think it might take a bit more than a cheap Chinese heater Bruce. An outing to one of Liverpool's finest may be needed.

Working on my new to me T52. So far fitted a webasto heater and rigged some extra engine room lighting. Already starting to stress that the winter won't be long enough to finish the task list despite working on the boat nearly every weekend. Trying to convince myself I don't need to do everything in the first year of ownership but struggling
With the heater fitted and a spotify subscription tinkering on the boat in the winter has become a lot more pleasant though. Not sure what the harbour master thinks of this lone soul dragging a marina cart full of tools over the jetty on a wet rainy sunday. Half expecting him too send for the men in white coats.
