Anyone know how to get biro off white seat covers?

Tried Stain Devil remover and acetone/thinners. Taken some off but the last bit will not shift.

Ideas please. (Yes, have thought about a flame-thrower)

Be massively careful with acetone / thinners. You will only see the damage it causes much later. I have small kids so feel your pain. Cheap alcohol based perfume seems to work best, regular alcohol and methelated spirits are also a bit harsh. I bought some leather care creams which do an alright job and certainly less harmful to leather / vinyl, but the golden rule is whatever you can safely use on your own skin....

3m citrus cleaner works a charm on that and many other tough marks on the boat including permenant marker.

Used it for years with vynil seats no problems. Expensive though but so worth it.

Black can!

Yes, they are Aquafax part numbers. Someone left a piece of paper on the seat and left it out in the rain.

Too late for alcohol then. You need to use it when the ink is still fresh / wettish.

I'd go with Jrudge's magic sponge now followed by a vinyl moisturiser such as 3M 09023 Marine Vinyl Cleaner / Conditioner / Protector. You've already rubbed the grain out with acetone / thinners. That is liable to dry out and crack within a season or so. Ask me how I know :/

EDIT: sometimes just drawing a line under further attempts to scrub it out and let it clean off in it's own time is the more prudent course. Apart from the boat the kids took a Parker Rollerball to a cream leather suite that was 2 days old. I scrubbed it when I should have left it. Where I scrubbed shows to this day. Where I left it the ink has long since faded / worn off.

Not too worried about going hard, I think the owner is going to recover them next season anyway, it's just that they have a charter next week and it looks a bit naff.
