Hi

I'm in the process of purchasing a second hand boat. The RYA only have a PDF version but I'm sure I've heard a Word version exists, does anyone have a copy they could let me have please?

I can't work out what country you are from but that could well have an effect on the wording of your documents. (RYA has affiliates around the world)

There's undoubtedly "spyware" working here because I had an advertisement come up from a legal firm offering help with a "Bill of Sale" The link is here but it is for Western Australia.

What is wrong with a PDF version anyway? Just download and print it.

Generally, when you open this pdf, you will see a menu bar on the right, click on ‘Fill & Sign’ then you can type in the details in the different fields, or print it out and handwrite it. Pages 3 & 4 are only needed if there are multiple owners.
Please note that if your chosen vessel in Part 1 registered, the registry of shipping will only accept this latest form, the older ones will be rejected.
If your vessel is Part III (SSR) registered or unregistered you could still use the old form if you wish as it doesn't need to be sent to the registry of shipping.

Yes, there are plenty of ways of doing it. Not sure what the OP is trying to achieve but, if he edits/modifies it, it will no longer be an RYA document so, he'd better remove any reference to them.

For a Part 1 registered vessel that one would be rejected by the registry.
 
Thanks everyone, but I still can't edit via any of these options.

With regard to the comments concerning whether my amendments may be rejected by the registry or the RYA, that doesn't matter, as all I want is a document which confirms the name, address of the the person i've bought it from (by the way , I know the seller) and that its free of encumbrances etc, as one day I will have to sell the boat on; btw the current owner did not obtain any ownership documents when he bought the boat 22 years ago also I'll be paying less than 2 grand for it.
