I have an old manual Henderson Mk3 bilge pump and need a new rubber diaphragm. Does anyone know of a spares outlet, or alternatively whether the Mk5 spares fit the Mk3?

Re: Your best bet

Many thanks for that. I got a very quick reply from them and the news is that Mk3 spares are no longer available but that the Mk5 diaphragm does fit the Mk3, although the valves are not the same. Just in case anyone else has the same problem...

Re: Your best bet

I paid £27 for the Mk 5 refurbish kit recently. It contained the diaphragm ,valves circlips and screws etc.Seemed a lot to me for a few bits of rubber and some stainless odds and ends.

The old circlips had badly corroded and snapped off when removing them so I was glad of those being in the kit.The pump has been in use about 15 years.

Hi Turbo,

How did the replacement work out? I am having a less then stellar response from the company. So far their suggestion is to replace the MK3 with the MK5. No suggestion of just replacing the diaphram.

Anyways let me know exactly what parts you ordered and how it worked if you don't mind. I'm just a bit peeved to have to discard two perfectly good pumps because the replacement valves are discontinued.
